Buying Art Online – Our Top 5 “Go To” Online Galleries
Finding those finishing touches for your home can be difficult and time consuming. With this months blog we hope to minimise the hours spent trawling the internet for prints, photographs and canvases by revealing some of our favourite online galleries. Frequently used by us and loved by our clients!
1 Citizen Atelier
This online gallery founded by Alessandra Salituri is a real gem. The site is full of beautiful floral pieces and prints with an ethereal and often spiritual feel to them.
The majority of the showcased images are in neutral, peaceful tones that easily fit into most schemes and room decors. Regular artists on the site are some of our favourites, such as Ashley Woodson-Bailey, and we love the intriguing images from Amy Friend, Anotnio Mora and Erika Masterson. Although we could go on….to be honest we’d find a spot for most of the artwork here if we could!
Pictoclub offers a wide range of contemporary, abstract paintings that really add the wow factor to a room. Whilst there is a large variety of “standard” sizes and images, the site can offer an entirely bespoke service too, tailoring colours, sizes, etc to your exact requirements. Framing is available in three simple, wooden frames that compliment the pieces perfectly and do not detract from the paintings themselves. Our personal favourites at the moment are “White Core” and “Dark Waters.”
3 These fine walls
This site is an absolute must for the fashionista! The gallery specialises in photography and there is a real fashion led feel to a lot of the images. Brands featured in the photography range from Chanel to Louis Vuitton and as such they make great, fun features in dressing areas, or anywhere that you want to add a lavish edge. For colour lovers you will find an abundance of brights in much of the photography, a purchase from here is bound to make a statement!
Top tip: The founder of These Fine Walls, Lisa Eryn, also displays her own photography pieces on the site and she is definitely one of favourites!
4 Rockett St George
Rockett St George is an all round home site with a wide range of accessories, soft furnishings and decor solutions but we would recommend that you do not overlook their art collection! They offer prints predominantly, at very affordable prices. We find that the variety enables you to create an eclectic and quirky gallery wall without really having to look much further! Most of the images will fit into standard frame sizes from high street stores, avoiding the need for expensive, bespoke framing. Perfect for adding personality and humour to your decor. In true RSG style they are a dream for the monochrome home!
5 Print club London
Print club London is a unique concept giving a platform for freelance artists and designers to sell and showcase their work. More than that, they are a studio for freelancers to work in and access the equipment required to produce their creations too. As a result, there is a huge range of prints from well known brands like HAM, to more urban, upcoming artists. We used the Donk “B Brave” print in a teenage girls bedroom recently and it looked fantastic whilst giving an inspirational message. We are also fans of the humorous takes on traditional British foods from Claudia Borfiga. Quirky and affordable kitchen art can be tricky to come by and these fit the bill perfectly!
